[Travel] Langkawi 2019

Finally got a chance to visit Langkawi, Malaysia this year. My parents was supposed to be going to Langkawi last year (or the year before) but didn’t managed to go because of the weather conditions in Langkawi. This year, my sister and I, together with 2 of our friends, went for a 4D3N trip.

[Travel] Teddy Museum Safari Theme Park

Teddy Bear Theme Park, Teseum, by Teddy Bear Safari Co. Ltd
Address: 155-112 Sogil-ri Aewol-eup Jeju-si

One of the places that I visited during my Korea trip was the Teddy Bear Museum in Jeju island.

There were a total of 2 teddy museums located in Jeju island; both with their own uniqueness. We ended up at the Safari theme museum due to the fact that it was the newer museum out of the two.

[Travel] Gangchon Rail Park

One of the places I visited during my 8 days in Jeju + Seoul was the Gangchon Rail Park.

Back in 2017, during my free and easy trip to Korea, I was interested in visiting the Rail Park in conjunction with the Nami Island and Little Petite France. However, after much consideration, I ended up for the day tour with the picking of strawberries instead. I was happy that I am able to experience the Rail Park together with my parents this time.

[Travel] 8D Wonderful Korea Jeju

This is my 3rd trip to Korea and instead of the usual free-and-easy concept, this was a guided tour trip. The change in concept to guided tour was in considering of my parents and the fact that Korea’s free-and-easy concept requires a  lot of walking.

We decided to plan our trip in October so that we could be able to look at the autumn leaves in Korea.

So the three musketeers (namely my elder brother and sister + myself), we decided to book our Korea trip via this travel agency named EU Asia Holidays Pte Ltd.

[Travel] Shopping at Myeongdong 명동

As a beauty product junkie, I have countless makeup/skin care at home but I would always succumb to temptation in buying more. I tend to buy Korean Brands so Myeongdong turns out to be a paradise for a junkie like me. Korean beauty product brands such as Innisfree, Etude House, The Face Shop, Laneige, Nature Republic were found along the streets, with staff standing right outside the store drawing customers in.

Apart from the beauty products, there are also clothing stores and numerous shoe outlets (such as Adidas, Nike, ABC Mart, Lesmore) found in Myeongdong so for men out there accompanying their special half to Myeongdong; fret not.

Read on why I think Myeongdong is amazing for me and if time permits, I will post my holy grails from the trip~

Ps: This post might be extremely long!

[Travel] Hanbok Experience

I chanced upon a good friend of my decked in Hanbok during her trip to Korea earlier on of the year and since I am going to Korea too and would love to try on the traditional costume, I asked her for the place where she rented the hanbok.

Her recommendation was Oneday Hanbok.

I googled the shop thereafter as well as browse through their Instagram. They have a wide range of Hanbok and have multi-lingual staff. Additionally, the store is located near the vicinity both Gyeongbokgung and Bukchon Hanok Village, where you can take artistic shots in the Hanbok.

The website of Oneday Hanbok states that it would be recommended to make a reservation with them, which I did for an 11 am slot.

[Travel] Pre-departure tips and plans

Back to reality after spending a week in South Korea. Even though it’s my 2nd visit to Korea, I have decided to focus mainly on Seoul again for a few reasons:

  1. I am not confident that my limited knowledge in Korea language will allow me to survive places such as Jeju and Busan.
  2. As my older sister and I are traveling as a duo, getting a private car in Jeju Island can be costly.
  3. There are still places of interest in Seoul that I have yet to explore.

One major difference to this trip compared to my first virgin trip in 2015 is the season. Back in 2015, I visited Korea at the end of May, where it’s summer thus the weather is humid and warm. This time round, we visited the place at the start of April, where its the start of the Spring Season, and we wish to see the pretty cherry blossoms.

Mentioned in one of my previous post about itinerary planning, I completed my 2017 Korea itinerary via Travefy, which have a couple of functions that makes planning for travel so much fun.

Will be sharing the different places that I had been to along the way (and will be including some photos or places from my 2015 trip) but for now, here are some pre-departure tips and plans that I have done prior to flying.

Travefy – Itinerary Planning

With my upcoming Korea trip in 2017 round the corner, I had been taking time to planning the itinerary for my trip.

As my trip consist of me and my sister, it was not that cumbersome since we can always discuss the trip anytime, anywhere. However, it would be more of a challenge if a group of friends travel overseas together. Editing of excel/word spreadsheets and sending each other updated copies will definitely be troublesome. (Though, there are always GoogleDrive so it may not be that much of a hassle)

To force myself to get to planning for my trip and at the same time, I began to search for the most effective way to plan for a trip and it was then I stumbled across Travefy.
